I love seeing Buck's face light up as he hits those first few notes and everyone cheers. Smile

That's an excellently atmospheric pic, you can almost hear him beginning to play it...

If any, what are some of your favorites from the band, Pigeon (or anyone who wants to contribute)? I'd be very interested to hear what they are.

Well, I first heard of BOC by way of a mate who frequently followed drunken sessions in the bar by playing this album which I thought really rocked but I never knew what it was. Finally one day he played it at some other time when I wasn't too drunk to ask what it was or remember the answer... he said it was by a band I was really into without knowing it Hehe - it was "The Revolution by Night". I'd guess that album is still my favourite, and my other likes tend to be from a similar time period - I like "Club Ninja" pretty well too, which I gather is not all that well regarded by the mass of fans. Also like "Fire of Unknown Origin" and "Cultosaurus Erectus". Not been so successful at getting into their earlier stuff, nor have I really followed since then - I bought "Imaginos" but could never really dig it and ended up giving it away. Would definitely like to see them live at some point but they're on the wrong side of the puddle...

All good albums, as far as I'm concerned. "Revolution" starts off with one of the songs that originally got me into BOC - "Take Me Away". Another favorite of mine from "Cultosaurus" is "Monsters". That's a track that a lot of fans don't even discuss and I've never understood why.

It seems that a lot of "hardcore" fans don't like their work post-1982. They also tend to regard the first two albums as BOC's best work. I love their debut, but I still can't get into "Tyranny and Mutation". "Hot Rails to Hell" and "O.D.'d on Life Itself" are fantastic songs, but I guess the rest of the album is too weird for me. Although, this is coming from the guy who loves "Mirrors" and a lot of fans don't seem to like that one because it's too pop.

I've tried and tried, but I can't get into that album either. "Del Rio's Song" is about the only great song on that album. I don't like the re-working of "Subhuman" on the album and I don't feel Buck does a very good job at singing "Astronomy".

I think they did a UK tour within the past two years or so. Hopefully they'll do another one before they call off their slogan "On Tour Forever".

BOC is supposed to be one of the pioneers of heavy metal. Sadly, it is always overshadowed by Sabbath, Zeppelin and Deep Purple. Not that I don't like the latter lot, but BOC deserves a lot more attention.

I have gone through a lot of phases is musical tastes. I started with Classic Rock, went to Metal, and now I like Jazz and Classical too.

Some of my favorites are:

The Grateful Dead
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
The Doors

Nine Inch Nails
Rammstein

Slipknot
Lamb of God
System of a Down

My two favorite bands that I have seen live recently are Full Service from Austin, TX http://www.myspace.com/fullservice and Consider the Source from New York, NY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMq5HL32tbs
