Wonder if Zoo would take Lucy back? They have been a bit bitter towards her as Nuts leading model over the years. Never see her listed on any polls etc

Nuts is going because they are starting to lose money. Sales has totally dropped in the last year for a number of reasons.

Zoo could end up going the same way.

Most of the lads mags are in trouble with sales. People just aren't buying them no more. You can blame the internet for that one. Why pay for something you can get free on the internet.

Personally I blame the lack of growth with Nuts. For the last ten years they have remained pretty much the same and people felt it had become old. Put that with the recycle of shoots. Using the same sets, clothes and styles. But just changing the model. Lack of new ideas always kills.

I can't see there being any shortage of takers for the website. No way a website like this will just be switched off.

In the right hands this site could be a fantastic starting platform.

This. Yes the internet will no doubt be blamed, and rightfully so, but like everything else if you put out a weak product, you're going to get weak sales. Month after month and year after year of photoshoots in front of plain backdrops, same poses and same girls. Plus, for whatever reason, and this goes for most of these magazines, they don't print nearly enough photos to warrant a purchase. 5 pages of pics? Great, and the other 75 pages? Lets fill them with awful jokes, severed limbs, and paparazzi snaps Roll Eyes Then, they start the VIP club and offer pictures in no greater resolution than what we were getting for free. Looks like they were just trying to squeeze out the last few cents rather than trying to turn it around.

I doubt it very much. The point of the website was to back up the magazine and get extra money. Anyone going into the glamour industry, either internet or print want to do it their own way and style. Nuts has proven they have run their course. So why is anyone going to take it up. Sales on both website and magazine have fallen drastically. Would you take over that and continue to try run it at a rate where more leave than come?

What Nuts needed to do some years ago was hire freelance photographers and let them run their own style of shoots and scenes with the Nuts models. That might have kept it fresh and interesting. Plus not fill most of the mag with adverts and unfunny jokes, images and paparazzi pictures.

Remember the C4 Documentary which charted the rise of the Weekly Lads Mags-and how they failed initially. This because the reliant on "celeb" models...and how the tide only turned when the emphasis moved towards Page 3/Glamour Models.

Funny that what both Nuts and Zoo have been serving up during the current decline is "Celeb" Models most of which refuse to go topless.

They dont seem to have learnt a single thing.

But they haven't.

Both Nuts and Zoo have mainly doing glamour shoots with glamour models. One week in four they do a shoot with a so called celeb. I say so called. As half the celebs now days are just some reality TV wannabe.

To return to my point above. It's not only the weekly lads mags in trouble. Maxim in the UK is only still running because of a contract they entered. The US company that owns wanted to kill it off months ago. FHM has lost more than sixty percent of it's sales from it's hay days. Loaded too is struggling. You only have to look at the selves in the newsagents and supermarkets. Look at how many is left each week. In old days you had to get one before the weekend or you'd struggle. Now there can be loads left even the day before they change them for the new ones.

The thing really killing them all off is the internet. It's like newspapers. Who wants to read or see something from the day before. As that is when they read it on the internet. Plus one can change from one thing to the other in second and without any extra cost. Something you can't do with print.
